This article aims to examine the structure and function of the soul from the perspective of the Quran and to compare it with modern scientific views, especially psychology. The Quran depicts the soul as a spiritual entity that possesses the potential for both good and evil, which can develop towards inner tranquility (nafs muṭma’innah) or fall into moral corruption (nafs ammārah). The scientific approach through psychology explains the soul as the center of thinking, feeling, and acting processes. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach, this study finds common ground between the concepts of psychology in revelation and science, which mutually reinforce each other in explaining the essence of humans as physical and spiritual beings.
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sains Islam Interdisiplinerhttps://www.ojs.sitesbite.com/index.php/JIPSI/article/view/433The role of the principal in fostering al-akhlaq al-karimah among students at smait darul rasyid, east lampung2025-12-01T02:14:57+07:00Chusnul Jauharihusnuljauhari09@gmail.comKharis Syuhud Mujahadakharismumtaza91@gmail.comAhmad Ahadi ahadiaadadi@gmail.comYoucha Alassane Touré youchaalassane@gmail.com
Globalization has brought widespread Western cultural influences into Indonesia, creating both positive and negative impacts on students, particularly in the realm of moral development. School principals hold a strategic role in mitigating moral degradation by strengthening school-based character formation. This study aims to examine: (1) the current moral condition of students at SMAIT Darul Rasyid East Lampung, (2) the principal’s role in fostering students’ moral character, and (3) the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing moral development at the school. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data interpretation. The findings show that several moral issues remain, especially in students’ discipline and practice of the 5S culture (Smile, Greet, Salute, Politeness, Courtesy). The principal plays a significant role through school culture by fulfilling seven leadership functions: educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, and motivator, implemented in programs such as Dhuha prayer, short religious talks, Qur’an recitation, routine prayers, and ceremonial activities. Supporting factors include strong teacher involvement and community participation, while inhibiting factors relate to students’ individual characteristics and limited understanding of moral and ethical values (akhlaqul karimah).
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sains Islam Interdisiplinerhttps://www.ojs.sitesbite.com/index.php/JIPSI/article/view/519Ustadz as agents of religious moderation in islamic boarding schools: Concepts, strategies, and impacts at pesantren mta, karanganyar2025-10-03T10:15:05+07:00Muin Abdullahmuinalummah@yahoo.comAnnafi’ Nurul’Ilmi Azizahlathifatulc@gmail.comMohammed Hafiz Ali Wafaaliwafa.baru123@gmail.comHabib Assalam opahbruno@gmail.com
This study examines the role of ustadz as agents of religious moderation at the Majelis Tafsir Al-Qur’an (MTA) Islamic Boarding School in Karanganyar, Central Java, through a qualitative case study involving 12 informants using interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that educational background and preaching experience influence the ustadz’s understanding and strategies in internalizing moderation, whether through sermons, discussions, exemplary conduct, or non-formal activities, although consistency remains uneven. The ustadz play a role in fostering tolerance and social harmony, with positive impacts on students’ mindsets, making them more critical, inclusive, and tolerant, despite some still perceiving moderation as a weakening of principles. Challenges include student resistance, limited ustadz capacity, and the influence of digital media, while opportunities involve media literacy, inter-community activities, and internal policies. The success of religious moderation depends on curriculum integration, role modeling, and sustainable social guidance, which can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools.
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sains Islam Interdisiplinerhttps://www.ojs.sitesbite.com/index.php/JIPSI/article/view/501Islamic education teacher communication strategies improving the quality of teaching and learning activities at mts hidayatus subban semarang2025-12-01T01:35:56+07:00Fouad Larhzizerfouad.larhzizer@uhp.ac.maHusna Nashihinaufahusna.lecture2017@gmail.comAliwanaliwan@setiaws.ac.idSanti Ratnawati santiratnawati@setiaws.ac.idSiti Qomala Khayati malahayati1104@gmail.comTriana Hermawati 241500046@almaata.ac.idMohammad Abdul Munjidm.abdulmunjid@gmail.com

This research aims to analyze the communication strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in dealing with the characteristics of Generation Z to improve the quality of teaching and learning activities (KBM) at MTs Hidayatus Subban Semarang. Generation Z has a tendency to learn quickly, visually, interactively, and is close to the digital world, so it requires teachers to implement more adaptive and interesting communication. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation as the basis for data collection. The research results show that Islamic Religious Education teachers employ four main communication strategies. First, they use concise, clear, and relevant verbal language to enhance students' digital experiences, making the material easier to understand. Second, they utilize nonverbal communication such as expressions, eye contact, intonation, and gestures to reinforce moral messages and build rapport. Third, they integrate digital media such as videos, visual graphics, and supporting applications to attract interest and enhance understanding of religious concepts. Fourth, they apply a dialogic approach through discussions, questions and answers, and case analysis to enhance students' active participation and critical thinking skills. These findings conclude that adaptive, varied, and technology-based communication strategies can increase motivation, engagement, and the quality of teaching and learning in Generation Z students. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in developing Islamic Religious Education learning communication models in the digital era.

2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sains Islam Interdisipliner
